The 2009 UCI Track Cycling Masters World Championships will take place in Sydney, Australia at the Dunc Gray Velodrome. The dates are the 19th to 24th October 2009, being contested over 6 days.

The Bankstown Sports Club would like to thank their partners, the Bankstown Council, Cycling Australia and Cycling NSW.

 

This year's Championships will be preceeded by the World Masters Games which will be held in Sydney, 10th - 18th October 2009. Many competitors will have the unique opportunity of competing in both events.

The UCI Track Cycling Masters World Championships will be a FREE event for spectators and also include a Cycling EXPO, which will be staged over 3 days of the Championships, 22nd - 24th of October. Entry to the EXPO will also be FREE of charge.

The Championships will conclude with a Gala Dinner and Awards Night on the evening of the 24th of October to be staged at the Bankstown Sports Club.

The Travelodge at the Bankstown Sports Club will be the official hotel of the 2009 Championships. Competitors can access special packages when booking through Moves Travel, the official travel partner of the event. A FREE shuttle bus will be provided by the event organisers from the Travelodge and Rydges accommodation bases, to and from the Dunc Gray Velodrome ONLY.This service will operate between 17th October and 24th October. The Shuttle Bus will be scheduled to run during training and competition times. 

2009 Championships

The 15th annual UCI  Track Cycling Masters World Championships will be conducted from the 19th - 24th October 2009. Online entries will open in April 2009. Entries will not be accepted after September 25th 2009. Please note that as part of the conditions of entry, riders must have a current UCI licence.

The Championships are the UCI Track Cycling Masters World Championships for riders 35 years and over.  Riders compete in 5 year age categories for males and women with each age competing over 5 individual disciplines including the Time Trial, Sprint, Pursuit, Points Race and Scratch Race.  The men also compete in the Team Sprint event.  There will be almost 90 World Championships being staged over 6 days of competition.

The UCI have revised their regulations and have taken off the 30-34 age category both, for men and women, but have added a new category of 75 years+ both, for men and women.
